The Story
My name is Tori. I am a stay-at-home mother to two wonderful little girls. I first started this site because I wanted to start baking. It was something I loved to do when I was a little girl but as I grew older I stopped doing it.
Then I had my daughter. For me, adjusting to the life of a stay-at-home mom was hard. I was in my early twenties (21, in fact) and went from being a driven university student who had a game plan to a mommy who just wanted to be with her daughter.
While being a stay-at-home is very rewarding I felt a bit bored and lost when my daughter was taking naps so I started to blog. Though I blog on-and-off I find it is a great way to keep my passion alive, which is baking and the English language (my BA is in English literature with a minor in professional writing).
Now I have two wonderful daughters and get the chance to live in Whistler, British Columbia Canada!
Life is not just good, it’s fantastic.

Hi Tori,
Ashley suggested we take a look at your blog at work.
WOW, it’s fantastic and you are such an artist. I especially liked reading all your different stories about recipes and your childhood.
I too have always been passionate about cooking and baking, and probable need to get the cook books and Kitchen Aid from under the covers.
I sure know my husband and 2 boys will love it.
Thanks again Tori for sharing
Best

Hi Tori!
We haven’t met yet but I work with Ashley at the detachment. I just wanted to let you know that I love your baking. Those cookies last week were amazing- nice and soft! Also, I loved your Christmas baked goods platter. In fact, I’m the person that you gave me the recipe for cookie candy cands. I’m thinking of making a batch for Easter but maybe changing the shape to a cross? I love baking too although I haven’t done much of it since I moved to Whistler. I make a mean oatmeal raisin cookie. Anyways! Keep the baked goods coming because they are delicious.
Your #1 fan,
Andrea

I found your blog while searching for Silver Palate recipes. I enjoyed reading your stories and your photography is lovely. Do you cook from the Silver Palate very much? I just got a copy and am working my way through it. It’s nice to read about what other stay-at-home moms are up to.
